“OBSCURED RADIANCE" – Opening of the Art Exhibition at the Ramat Gan Theater

Finissage of the “Obscured Radiance” Exhibition with an Exclusive Performance by the Improvisation Theater “Plastilin”

On January 22, the Ramat Gan Theater will host the highly anticipated finissage of the “Obscured Radiance” exhibition, accompanied by an interactive performance from the renowned improvisation theater “Plastilin.”

Until January 22, visitors are invited to experience the “Obscured Radiance” exhibition, a highlight of the ArtNeuroVerse Biennale. The exhibition showcases the works of over 60 Israeli artists from various generations. On Wednesday, January 22, starting at 6:00 PM, the closing event will offer a memorable opportunity to immerse in this remarkable project on its final day.

The title “Obscured Radiance” symbolizes moments of joy amidst challenging times. Just like Hanukkah candles, happiness shines through anxiety and complex emotions, offering light and strength in the darkest moments. The exhibition, opening during Hanukkah and aligning with International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, embodies this symbolism.

Set in the spacious, welcoming semi-circular hall of the Ramat Gan Theater, the exhibition creates a unique atmosphere. Visitors can sit with children, discuss impressions of the artworks, enjoy coffee, and connect with friends—all while feeling like they are in the intermission of a play. This atmosphere of contemplation and immersion into the art world was thoughtfully designed by the curators of “Obscured Radiance.” The narrative of the eternal struggle between light and darkness unfolds through more than 90 artworks, including prints, paintings, video art, and installations. Each piece contributes to a journey of light composed of vivid, joyous moments captured by artists from diverse cities and generations.

The exhibition’s opening event was attended by over 150 guests, including representatives of the Ramat Gan Municipality, curators, and ArtNeuroVerse Biennale initiators, who welcomed participants and presented gifts and awards. The delighted faces of children—project participants—shone with happiness, which was equally shared by the adult artists. Approximately 60 contributors participated in the exhibition, ranging from professional artists from Ramat Gan and beyond to talented children with autism. Notable contributors included Anna Bessonova, Oleg Babich, Katya Royz, Tatiana Belkina, and Philipp Blau, whose works demonstrated remarkable cohesion and artistic mastery.

The closing event promises to be just as captivating as the opening. As a special highlight, the theater “Plastilin” will present a bespoke performance, “Obscured Radiance”, created specifically for the ArtNeuroVerse Biennale. This interactive performance invites the audience to connect with those who often struggle to be seen or heard, encouraging viewers to embrace a different perception of the world. Guests will not just be spectators but co-creators, attuning themselves to the unique experiences of those who perceive the world differently.
